St. Patrick’s Music Group

Posted by admin 18 Oct, 2008

If you live in and around Bristol and have an interest in music take a look at St. Pat’s Music Group site.  They raise money to help local children further their musical talents by arranging musical events four or five times a year.  This has been running for a couple of years now and some of the highlights that come to mind are the Canadian Orpheus Male Voice Choir, the Exultate Singers,  The York Waites, guitarist John Byrne and more recently in October Shebeen an Irish folk band.

You can also get involved by becoming a friend of the Music Group or sponsoring an event.  Applause sponsored a performance by clarinettist Luca Luciano in February of this year.

The Group’s next event is the UWE Showstoppers.  As its name suggests, this group sings its way through some of the all-time great show-stopping songs from Broadway and the West End , including Chicago, Guys and Dolls, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables as well as exciting new shows such as Rent, Wicked, Tick Tick Boom and Taboo – www.uwe.ac.uk/cpa/singing
