Tender and proposal documents

Posted by applause 6 Jun, 2009

proposaldoc2Preparing and writing proposal or tender documents is a time consuming and exhaustive process, with information and key budgetary details not available till the last minute and your sales people constantly honing and changing the text right up to the wire.  But despite all of this you also know that you want the document to be well designed and professionally presented in order to stand out from the other competitor proposals on the client’ s table.

By using Adobe’s InDesign and InCopy technologies we can help with this process.  Allowing content providers to work in MSWord or InCopy to provide the raw text, while we  integrate content with design and layout. If you would like to know more please call to see how we can relieve some of the stress in providing creative design and content clarity to your proposals

Pensford Beer Festival

Posted by applause 29 May, 2009

Pensford’s second festival is coming up – July 17-19 2009. They are still fundraising to repair the local community hall so budgets are very tight. We produced a low cost website for them last year and keeping the existing format have updated the content and produced promotional flyers, leaflets, posters and roadside signage to advertise the event. It is a great day out especially if the weather is good, sunshine, countryside all around, few beers and a barbeque. What more could you want! Info on www.pensfordbeerfestival.co.uk

Why not try our new web rental service

Posted by admin 1 May, 2009

Why splash out on a website – when you can rent one for a lot, lot less?

999website_leafletCustomers will judge you by your website… and first impressions count. Research shows that you have just seven seconds to make that impression. Get it right and you’ll win business – often from unexpected sources. Get it wrong and you’ll be dismissed as amateur.

But funding a professionally-designed website can cause problems for the cash flow of the average small or start-up business. Here at Applause, we’re offering the best of all worlds: a ‘rental’ solution that allows you to significantly reduce the cost of generating a professional website, and then spread the cost over monthly payments.

www.999website-rental.co.uk is the fast, flexible and inexpensive way for business start-ups, small businesses, charities and social groups to create a powerful on-line presence. For just a £99 set-up fee and £9.99 a month, you’ll have your own domain name, a site with real impact setting out your organisation’s products and services – complete with images – and hosting on a robust server. You’ll even have your own dedicated email facilities.

You may not have the resources to fund bespoke web development, but you need to make potential customers sit up and take notice.  This is the solution that ticks all the boxes.

www.999website-rental.co.uk is based on a design template system: you simply pick your design from a choice of standard ones on offer, or ask us to take the style from an existing website, provide words and pictures then we do the rest.

What’s more, www.999website-rental.co.uk grows with you: if you want to upgrade or add features such as search, a news section or a search engine optimisation we’ll be there to do it for you.

We think it’s the smartest web design service currently available; and for anyone who hasn’t got a big budget to spend, there’s no

Multi purpose stationery and brand identity

Posted by applause 1 May, 2009

When creating business stationery, designing a new businesses logo or gathering photos, graphics, video media etc for a marketing project, it is worth looking over all the purposes that you might put these assets to. You might say well that’s pretty obvious, but you would be surprised how often media is created for one purpose, paid for,  and then to discover it won’t work for another.  A common problem is authoring media for web which by nature is small, compact and at computer screen resolution and finding it turns into a  mushy mosaic when produced as an exhibition banner!

We try to ensure your money is spent in the right way developing media assets that you only pay for once and can use for may purposes

As a recent example we have just produced a range of stationery and marketing media for two new companies CC Two video services and Set & Staging conference equipment hire. Using logo design provided by Neil Phipps a local designer Applause has created artwork for the conventional letterheads, comp slips, business cards. But also provided more specific print and online solutions for email stationery, bar code labelling, dvd digipack cases, powerpoint and proposal document templates and exhibition pop up banners.

Sales Conference Awards

Posted by admin 10 Apr, 2009

Usually at the Annual Sales Conference there are some special awards to those staff members who have contributed something outstanding to the organisation over the year. These often take the form of ‘Oscar’ ceremonies with dry ice, reveals celebrity presenters and all the razzamatazz. However with the financial sector tightening its belt somewhat at the present one of our clients wanted a simple low cost means of generating some expectation from the assembled sales force.

The Applause thinking cap was worn and we came up with a simple interactive ‘wheel of fortune’ that could be played in with the powerpoint presentations for each category of award. The names of all delegates present were entered and displayed at random as the sales director announced the runners up and at the press of a key the names steadily slowed finishing on the winner. Simple, elegant and effective. A roar sprung from the audience as the display slowed – with many prospective winners thinking is it me!, is it me! – like waiting for the sixth ball on the lottery – well almost.

If you think this would be a useful tool for you – we have one on the shelf waiting!!

Hélélé African Soul & Jazz

Posted by applause 27 Feb, 2009

On the Arts front Applause has been designing CD covers and duplicating CDs for Alphonse Daudet Touna African Jazz band HéLéLé for a number of years producing 3 titles to date.

Alphonse plays a balafon (an African marimba) he made himself. The rich balafon melody creates another style of afro jazz through a mix of forest rhythms such as Assiko, Bikoutsi, Makouné, Makossa and Bolobo.

The concerts they play are spontaneous and alive. Full of vibration and energy, the band elevate the crowd through the body language of dance. And for the mind, great solos are weaved within the framework of rare grooves and percussion.

Pensford Wine Festival

Posted by admin 27 Feb, 2009

On the back of the Pensford Beer Festival which had its first outing in July 2008 and proved to be a roaring success the organising committee, as well as now planning the second beer festival, have organised the first Pensford Wine Festival to be held on the 14th of March in a few weeks time.

John Durston of the West of England Wine & Spirits Association has been persuaded to put together tutored tasting of new and classic wine styles and this will be followed by an evening of entertainment and tastings of around 30 of his specially selected favourites from around the world.

Applause had produced the Beer Fest website last year and were asked to produce the Wine Festival site together with promotional leaflets and posters plus display graphics for the event itself.  It is fair to say we rather like jobs like this can you guess why!?

If you hail from around Pensford, South Bristol or North Somerset checkout the information on www.pensfordwinefest.co.uk
and make a beeline for this not to missed event.
